Alexander Erwig, Partner

Alexander works to secure the best possible outcome for plaintiffs in complex litigation.  He enjoys the challenge of mastering the facts of each case and distilling complexity into a compelling picture of liability.

Alexander has represented individuals, small businesses, classes of consumers, and others in a broad range of trial cases and arbitrations—including matters involving antitrust violations, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, patent infringement, and mass torts.

Alexander became a partner in the firm in 2026.  He also maintains an active mediation practice, though Erwig Mediation, LLC.

Results:

  • Counsel for 1440 Sports, a company that matchmakes sports organizations with potential sponsors, and gets paid on commission for making those introductions.  1440 Sports successfully introduced a major sports organization to a sponsor, but the organization refused to pay 1440 Sports’ fee.  After defeating the other side’s summary judgment motion, the case settled on confidential terms a few weeks before trial.
  • Counsel for New York Wheel Owner LLC in a $170 million breach of contract dispute concerning the design and construction of a giant observation wheel that was to be erected on Staten Island.
  • Counsel for Rebotix Repair, LLC, a small business that developed a proprietary service to repair parts of the da Vinci surgical robot manufactured by Intuitive Surgical.  When Intuitive told hospitals not to use Rebotix’s services, and threatened to withhold new contracts from hospitals, Rebotix’s business crumbled.  After a two year antitrust litigation (including successfully defeating Intuitive’s summary judgment motion and multiple Daubert motions), the case settled on confidential terms shortly before trial.
  • Counsel for the Toys “R” Us Creditor Litigation Trust, in a lawsuit against former directors and officers of Toys “R” Us alleging various claims arising out of the Toys “R” Us bankruptcy.  The case resolved with a confidential global settlement before trial.
  • Counsel for numerous plaintiffs in a mass tort dealing with cancer caused by long-term to ethylene oxide.  On the eve of the first bell-weather trial, the case settled on confidential terms.
